First-Time Friendly

Never had a Brazilian before? You don't need to know what to expect. Your waxologist will guide you through positioning, skin stretching, and each step of the process.

First Brazilian? Feeling Nervous?

If you're booking your first Brazilian, it's completely normal to feel nervous.

You might be wondering:

Will it hurt?
What am I supposed to do?
What if my hair is too long?
What if I feel awkward?

Don't worry — let your waxologist guide you through it.

Professional hard wax can be a comfortable option for intimate waxing, and your waxologist will adjust the technique according to the area, hair growth, and your individual needs.

You'll be guided through positioning and skin stretching throughout the appointment, so you don't have to figure anything out on your own.

Looking for additional comfort?

If you're particularly nervous or sensitive to waxing, you may choose to purchase an over-the-counter topical numbing product beforehand as an optional comfort measure.

Products such as Zensa or Dr. Numb are available over the counter. If you choose to use a numbing product, follow the product's directions carefully and use it only as directed.

Please let your waxologist know when you arrive if you have applied a numbing product. Any remaining product will need to be thoroughly cleansed from the skin before waxing so the area is properly prepared.

How to Prepare for Your Wax

Hair Length

For best results, hair should be approximately 3/4 inch (1.91 cm) long, which is typically around 2 weeks of hair growth after shaving.

This gives the wax enough hair to grip for effective root removal.

Recently Shaved?

You don't necessarily need to cancel your appointment.

If you've recently shaved and are already seeing some regrowth, you can still come in. Your waxologist will assess the hair during your appointment.

If the hair is long enough to be removed from the root, it can be waxed. Very short hairs may be combined with tweezing when appropriate.

No Trimming During Your Appointment

Kefi Beauty does not provide body-hair trimming during waxing appointments for safety reasons.

Please arrive with the hair at its natural length rather than trimming immediately before your appointment.

Before Your Appointment

For the best waxing experience:

  • Gently exfoliate regularly to help remove dead skin cells and reduce the likelihood of ingrown hairs.

  • Keep your skin well hydrated in the days leading up to your appointment.

  • Avoid a very hot shower or bath immediately before your appointment, as heat can temporarily increase skin sensitivity. A lukewarm shower is fine.

  • Avoid sun exposure and tanning immediately before waxing.

  • Avoid applying heavy lotions, oils, or other products to the area immediately before your appointment.

What to Expect During Your Wax Session

1. Consultation

Your waxologist will discuss your expectations, any skin concerns, and anything important about your service before beginning.

2. Cleansing

The area being waxed is gently cleansed to remove oils, lotions, and residue so the wax can properly adhere to the hair.

3. Prep & Guidance

Your waxologist will guide you through positioning, when and where to hold or stretch the skin, and what to expect throughout the process.

4. Wax Application

Professional-grade hybrid hard wax is carefully applied to the area included in your booked service. Application technique may vary depending on the body area and direction of hair growth.

5. Quick, Controlled Removal

The wax is removed with a swift, controlled motion to efficiently remove unwanted hair while minimizing discomfort.

6. Reapplication When Needed

The hybrid hard wax can be reapplied to the same area when necessary, using proper technique to help minimize unnecessary skin trauma.

7. Calming Finish

A soothing post-wax product is applied to help calm the skin and reduce temporary redness.

Waxing Aftercare

Your skin may be temporarily warm, sensitive, or slightly red immediately after waxing. This is normal and should settle with time.

While the skin is still sensitive:

  • Avoid very hot showers and baths.

  • Avoid tanning and prolonged sun exposure.

  • Avoid excessive heat and activities that cause significant sweating.

  • Avoid unnecessary friction or irritation to the freshly waxed area.

  • Keep the skin clean and hydrated.

Once your skin has settled, continue gentle exfoliation 2–3 times per week and keep your skin moisturized to help maintain smooth results and reduce the likelihood of ingrown hairs.

Professional Waxing & Hair Removal Products

Kefi Beauty uses professional waxing and hair removal products selected for effective hair removal and a comfortable waxing experience.

If you have sensitive skin, known allergies, or concerns about specific ingredients, please let your waxologist know before your appointment and request an ingredient list.

Waxing FAQ

How long should my hair be before waxing?

For best results, approximately 3/4 inch (1.91 cm) of hair is recommended, generally around 2 weeks of growth after shaving.

If your hair is shorter, don't automatically cancel. Your waxologist can assess the hair and determine what can be removed.

What if I shaved recently?

You can still come to your appointment. If some of the hair is long enough to be removed from the root, it can be waxed. Very short hairs may be tweezed when appropriate.

Do you trim hair before waxing?

No. Kefi Beauty does not provide body-hair trimming during waxing appointments for safety reasons. Please arrive with the hair at its natural length.

Is hard wax good for Brazilian waxing?

Yes. Hard wax is commonly used for sensitive skin and intimate areas, and can be used for waxing from the face to the body. It grips the hair from the root and is removed without traditional strips. With the right technique, it can help reduce unnecessary pulling on the skin compared with traditional strip wax.

Because hard wax adheres primarily to the hair rather than the skin, many clients find it more comfortable, especially for sensitive areas such as a Brazilian.

Can I get a Brazilian if it's my first time?

Absolutely. First-time clients are welcome. Your waxologist will explain the process and guide you through positioning and skin stretching throughout the appointment.

What if I'm nervous?

Let your waxologist know at the beginning of your appointment. Your waxologist will walk you through the process and answer any questions you have.

Can I use numbing cream?

An over-the-counter topical numbing product may be an optional comfort measure for clients who are particularly nervous or sensitive. Follow the product's directions carefully and let your waxologist know if you have applied one so the skin can be thoroughly cleansed before waxing.

How often should I wax?

Hair grows in cycles, so maintaining a regular waxing schedule can help you achieve more consistent results over time. For body waxing, appointments are generally recommended every 4–5 weeks, while facial waxing may be needed every 2–4 weeks depending on your individual hair-growth pattern.

Can I wax if I've recently tanned?

Waxing should be avoided on recently sunburned, irritated, or compromised skin. If you're unsure whether your skin is ready for waxing, please contact me before your appointment.

Ready for Smooth Skin?

Whether it's your first Brazilian or you're already a regular, Kefi Beauty provides private, professional waxing with an emphasis on technique, hygiene, and skin comfort.
