Hair Removal Waxing — Pre & Post Care

CONTRAINDICATIONS

Please consult your doctor or avoid waxing if you currently have or recently experienced:

  • Diabetes

  • Hemophilia (bleeding disorder)

  • Contagious skin conditions

  • Accutane use within the past 12 months

  • Retinol or chemical exfoliants used within the past 2 weeks on or around the treatment area

  • Blood thinners (may increase bruising or sensitivity)

PRE-CARE — BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT

To achieve the smoothest and most comfortable results:

  1. Hair Length — Ideal growth is 6–12mm (¼ to ½ inch) — about the size of a grain of rice.

  2. Trim or Grow Accordingly — Please arrive with hair length around 6–12mm (¼ to ½ inch) for clean removal from the root.

    • If hair is trimmed too short, wax may not grip effectively.

    • Longer hair is fine, but please note: Kefi Beauty does not trim body hair for safety reasons.

  3. Exfoliate & Hydrate — Gently exfoliate 1–2 days before your appointment and moisturize the area to soften the skin. This helps reduce discomfort and ensures a smoother wax.

  4. Personal Hygiene — Please be mindful of personal hygiene prior to any waxing service, especially Brazilian waxing appointment.

  5. Clothing Choice — Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing to your appointment. For sensitive skin, this can help minimize friction and irritation immediately after your waxing and keeps you more comfortable during your visit.

  6. During Your Menstrual Cycle

    • You can still wax while on your period — just wear a clean tampon during the service.

    • A self-cleansing wipe will be provided before the appointment for your comfort.

    • The area will also be pre-cleansed and prepped with professional pre-waxing products to ensure optimal hygiene and skin protection before your service.

POST CARE — AFTER YOUR WAX

FIRST 24 HOURS — AVOID

Your skin is most sensitive during this period. To prevent irritation or infection, avoid:

  • Direct sun exposure or tanning beds

  • Sexual activity or intense exercise (sweat can introduce bacteria into open pores)

  • Steam rooms, saunas, or hot baths/showers

  • Wearing tight clothing or underwear — friction may cause irritation or bumps

AFTER 48 HOURS — CARE & MAINTENANCE

Once the skin has calmed, follow these steps to maintain smooth results and prevent ingrowns:

  • Finish showers or face washes with cold water during the first 48 hours to help close pores and reduce redness or bumps.

  • After 48 hours, gently exfoliate in the opposite direction of hair growth 2–3 times per week to prevent ingrown hairs.

  • Apply moisturizer within 5 mins after shower and exfoliated regularly to maintain soft, healthy skin and to prevent ingrown hairs.

  • Wear comfortable underwear and less tight clothing to reduce skin friction and ingrown hair.

  • Rebook every 4–6 weeks depending on your personal hair growth cycle (which can vary due to hormones or genetics).
